If inhaled If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial
respiration. Consult a physician.
In case of skin contact Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Get medical attention if symptoms
occur.
In case of eye contact Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a
physician.
If swallowed Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious

10.6 Hazardous decomposition products
When this product is used in a welding process, hazardous decomposition product would include those from
volatilization, reaction or oxidation of the material listed in section 3 and those from the base metal and coating.
The amount of fumes generated from this product varies with welding parameters and dimensions. Refer to
applicable national exposure limits for fume compounds, including those exposure limits for fume compounds found
in section 3. Reasonably expected gaseous products would include carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides and ozone. Air
contaminants around the welding area can be affected by the welding process and influence the composition and
quality of fumes and gases produced.

Information on toxicological effects
Acute toxicity
Tin: May cause skin irritation. May cause eye irritation due to mechanical action. Inhalation of tin dust may cause
respiratory tract and mucous membrane tract irritation due to mechanical action. It is poorly absorbed from the
digestive tract. It can cause gastrointestinal tract disturbance which may be irritant or astringent on the stomach.
Signs and symptoms of zinc exposure are central nervous system depression, cough, chest pain and difficulty
breathing. Exposure to high airborne concentrations can cause anesthetic effects. Cadmium: Damage to the
lungs. Kidney injury may occur.

Overexposure to welding fumes may affect pulmonary function. Repeated exposure to a highly toxic material may
produce general deterioration of health by an accumulation in one or many human organs. Excessive inhalation of
zinc oxide fumes may produce symptoms known as “Zinc Shakes” which are flu-like and usually cease when the
individual is removed from the source. Prolonged or repeated exposure can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, lung

irritation. Severe overexposure of Cadmium can result in death. Carcinogenic to humans (Cadmium) (Classified 1
