Q: My chromate coating on zinc plated parts is not as durable as I need. What can I do?
A: Dip the parts in a 20% sulfuric acid bath before chromating. After the chromate, rinse the part in a distilled water bath at room temp, followed by a distilled water bath at 130 deg F. Air dry the parts.
